The world is different than you,” said my friend as we were sitting on the beach tip at Cancun recently, looking out at the waves lapping on the other shore. My friend and I were on a beach vacation a few years back, and I have to honestly say that it was one of the best vacations I have been on in the last few years, and my everyday life has changed just a little, none of the rodents bother me anymore just the other Americans. Let’s start with the both of us not being happy campers/vacationers. Not having to worry about a so-called bed-mate/lover, i.e. someone to share a room with is a big relief, especially when you are stuck in a tent or some sort of cabin for a week and have only your wanderlust friend to help you get a little air. You also don’t have to cook food, have that. This is a common connotation but it is very far from true. ances with people who are adventurous eat out in hostels and share a room or cabin with a few others, sharing expenses perhaps, but always staying in contact with others. You meet new people and you fall in love with this new country whilst traveling and enjoying yourself. If you are single and want to travel alone to a specific destination, there are many sites on the internet that specialize in sole travel agents for single seniors. There are sites that assist single seniors with travel plans to just about anywhere in the world, and if you are comfortable with the helping hand of a travel agent, this may be a great way to meet other like-minded people. So, what is a travel agent? A travel agent is a licensed professional person employed by a travel board as an expert in the particular destination, tour, or vacation area that they are traveling to. A travel agent usually has at least some association with a tour or vacation company. Their educational and professional background ranges from entry-level to graduate levels, depending on the travel board that they are working for. It’s fascinating to think that in today’s age there are more travel agents than ever before. With the actual internet, due to its flexibility and lightning fastness, it is easy for all of us to seek out information on our destinations, book our travel immediately or just find reliable sources of information on the web. In this case, cyberspace has replaced the Synopsis Page in the past, and in the present, travel agents are just one more name among many. The name travels agent is a fairly new class of professionalIdentifiable by the use of an umbrella, because it was once assistants that carried all of the books and scrolls in order to find the room at the last minute before the wedding ceremony. (The internet was not around when these establishments existed.) Travel agents are associates of tour operators and cruise lines. Generally, travel agents are locally employed and located in prime locations. The responsibilities of the travel agent include booking of rooms, transportation, meals, programs, in addition to coordinating travel arrangements for groups and vacations. The travel agent usually provides concierge and resource information to guests with reservations. It is important that travel agents keep up in their business and keep themselves on the cutting edge of technology and methods. constantly innovative, keeping up with the times, and making high-quality travel services to satisfy the ever-growing needs of their customers. One thing is for certain. the needs of the travel agent will continue to go up and as technology advances, so will the job security of the industry.
